The Airman and Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) plays a critical role in personal and family readiness, helping to prepare Team Hill and their families to meet ever increasing mission demands. The scope of the Centers’ responsibilities is wide-ranging and ever-evolving.
The practices of the Air Force Child Development Programs are based on current knowledge of child development and early childhood education. They support the development of the whole child, meaning all areas of development are considered inter-related and equally important. The CDC program acknowledges that children learn through active, hands-on involvement with their environment, peers and caring adults. We respect each child’s unique interests, experiences, abilities and needs, thus allowing us to be responsive to and appropriate for each child. Children are valued as individuals, as well as part of a group. Likewise, our program respects and supports the ideals, cultures, and values of families in their task of nurturing children. We advocate for children, families and the early childhood professionals within our programs.
The program offers a nurturing, educational, home environment. Family Child Care (FCC) is a home away from home for your child with qualified, professional providers both on and off base. Each provider is held to high standards that include twenty four hours of annual training, monthly home inspections, and meeting Air Force regulations. All providers hold current First Aid, CPR, and food handlers certificates. The Family Child Care program accepts children and providers with chronic health problems, including those that are HIV-positive.
The mission of the Hill Air Force Base Honor Guard is to represent the Air Force during military funeral honors and ceremonial functions. The honor guard is tasked with performing funerals for Air Force members past and present. The honor guard also provides ceremonial support for Air Force ceremonies and certain civic events.
The mission of Youth Programs is to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The program provides a safe place to learn and grow, encourages ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals, and creates life-enhancing programs and character development experiences and opportunities.
